Week 4 - RSS

This week was OK!
I don't mind RSS - quickly gives you the highlights and then only a click away to read the stories you are interested in. It's not that problematic either to get it to work. Speaking from a novice's point of view.

I could see many advantages in the library environment. It could be a way to keep patrons informed in upcoming events, new resources and provide professional development for staff by keeping them informed on changes, new ideas, what other libraries are trying, etc.

One of big downsides however, is how do you find time to read and assimilate all the infomation that comes your way with email (can be hard enough to keep on top of this with normal workloads), listserves, printed material, blogs, rss?

At least in an RSS reader you can dip and and out when you have time.
